DISCOVERING THE BEST WINE CELLARS IN EMILIA

In Emilia, there are still a number of small artisan and family-run wineries.
Wine always has a story to tell: a story of passionate winemakers, the idea of preserving the “territory” and making wine something to share with other people. Come and taste the classic wines of Bologna and Modena such as Pignoletto and Lambrusco.

The Tour includes

  • Guided tour of an artisan wine cellar, which produces a variety of Lambrusco wines, Traditional Balsamic Vinegar and Sorbara Grappa
  • Lunch at a local Trattoria or in a farmhouse
  • Tasting of DOC and DOCG certified wines produced by the wineries
  • Guided tour of a historical artisan wine cellar located on the Bolognese hills which produce autochthonous wines: Pignoletto and other wines from Barbera, Merlot, Sauvignon and Albana grapes

EMILIA FOR FOODIES

The Food Markets are the soul of the cities of Emilia, this is where the local housewives (“arzdoure” or “rezdore” in dialect) shop for top quality ingredients for their meals. We will do a fun cooking course to learn how to roll out the pasta with a rolling pin and create the traditional egg pasta and we will discover the amazing world of Balsamic Vinegar.

The Tour includes

  • A visit to the traditional covered Food Market of Modena, in the historic centre of the city, where you can taste the typical market dishes and a short walk with our expert.
  • The “Mani in pasta” tour with our local pasta maker: a cooking lesson to learn how to make Rosettes, Noodles and Tortelloni in a traditional farmhouse in the countryside of Modena
  • Lunch with cooked first courses and a traditional Modenese menu
  • Guided tour of a family-run vinegar factory producing Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena (PDO) and tasting
